Equal Arts (Alice Thwaite) also travelled to the United States as part of a Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship and observed the 'Meet Me at MOMA' programme in New York...Alice is the Director of Equal Arts which provides opportunities and creative projects for Older People. Alice has close links with the Royal Academy of Art in London in which the MOMA model has been adapted...therefore we now aspire to develop this across the Tyne and Wear Museums in Newcastle...
I have attended the two seminars in preparation for the project and i will be working on the training and development of staff facilitating the 'Meet Me' sessions in the various Newcastle Museums and Galleries.
I feel ever so honoured to be able to use this model here in the UK and i hope it is as successful as the Museum of Modern Arts Programme...
