Belmont View Care Home

This week i wanted to try something new with the reisdents at Belmont View Care Home…therefore i introduced art history alongside visual art and storytelling. The workshop theme was ‘Dreams’ and we created our own ‘personal’ captions of dreams through marble printing and messages in bottles. The Dream by Henri Rousseu was discussed in great detail in which i took on board all of the knowledge i had developed in the USA. The residents loved it – and i will be certainly facilitating something similar in the future!

Research Interventions Seminar, Newcastle University

I attended the Research Interventions Seminar with Newcastle University last week, looking at ways we can develop creative activity within museums and galleries here in the UK. Eventually the ‘Meet Me at MOMA’ model will be replicated here in the UK and i will be advising and helping with the process across the Tyne and Wear Museums through Equal Arts, based in Newcastle. It was thoroughly interesting and i am excited to get started – the team consist of many important and knowledgeable bodies – so i am sure it will be a success!!

'Carers Together' Workshop

It was great meeting the regulars that always attend Carers Together and i was lucky enough to facilitate a session too!! We got messy with sculpture and then socialised afterwards – a lovely afternoon!
